About The Position

Sterling Automotive Group is seeking experienced professionals to join our Collision Center as either a Body Shop Technician or Body Shop Painter. These positions play a vital role in restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Candidates may apply for either specialty based on their experience and qualifications. Body Shop Technicians focus on structural and cosmetic vehicle repairs, while Body Shop Painters are responsible for surface preparation, color matching, refinishing, and paint application.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or possess a minimum of three years of licensed driving experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills across multiple vehicle systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturer repair procedures, technical service bulletins (TSBs), and warranty requirements.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic equipment, dealership management systems, and manufacturer software platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Master Certified Technician or advanced Automotive Technician preferred.
  • Leadership, coaching, and technician training experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively dispatch work and manage shop workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and replace damaged vehicle body panels and components.
  • Perform structural and non-structural repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect vehicles and identify repair requirements.
  • Utilize welding, measuring, and repair equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.
  • Mix, match, and apply paint and refinishing materials.
  • Perform color matching and finish corrections as needed.
  • Ensure paint quality meets dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Maintain paint equipment and work areas in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Follow company policies, manufacturer procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain quality workmanship and productivity expectations.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company's values and commitment to customer service.
