About The Position

This position offers production‑based pay, meaning compensation is determined by the tasks performed. Pay ranges from $5 to $20 per flag hour based on location. The position may also be eligible for additional compensation, which may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program. A vehicle collects a lot of memories during its life. Every dent, ding and curb-kiss tells a story. Those stories don’t have to end with the original owner, though. That’s where you come in. At Manheim (a Cox Automotive company), we’re looking for a reliable Body Shop Painter II to help resurrect our rides and get them ready for resale. If that’s you – and we hope it is – read on!

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; OR 5 years’ experience in a related field
• Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be able to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Responsibilities

• Performs surface refinishing work.
• Surface preparation prior (masking / protecting adjacent areas, sanding, priming, etc.).
• Handling, applying and disposing of surface coatings.
• Ensuring surface coatings / refinish products are properly formulated in terms of color and finish texture.
• Applying refinish coatings.
• Inspect refinish products to be used for proper formulation to meet color match and finish texture standards.
• Cleaning and maintaining all paint formulation and application equipment.
• Comply with applicable procedures and regulations regarding mixing, labeling, applying and disposing of paint and related materials.
• Wearing and using appropriate safety equipment at all times.
• Following all job-related safety and health procedures.
• Assisting with special projects assigned.
