The Body Shop Mechanical Technician is responsible for completing mechanical work and safety checks of all assigned vehicles for insurance purposes in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards. This role involves checking parts against estimates, ensuring proper parts are ordered and received, and performing mechanical and safety checks as required by insurance companies. Possible body work includes small bumper replacements, dash replacements, and R&I of interiors for hail repairs, wind noise, and water leak issues. The technician must notify management of any difficulties and maintain required safety equipment. They must also comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to hazardous materials and body shop operations, including waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know. Diagnosing check engine and air bag problems is also a key responsibility.
