Body Shop Mechanic
About The Position
Swift Transportation is seeking a skilled Body Shop Mechanic to join their team. This position involves performing thorough inspections and repairs on tractors and their bodies, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and DOT requirements. The role requires identifying and repairing or replacing internal and external body components to maintain equipment safety. Additionally, mechanics will identify non-body related repair needs and proactively assist colleagues to achieve organizational goals. Swift Transportation offers extensive training, including hands-on OEM training with manufacturers like Freightliner, International, Volvo, Cummins, and Detroit, along with opportunities for career advancement within one of the largest fleets on the road.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Comprehensive Background Check
- Pre-employment Hair Follicle drug screening
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections and related tractor and body repairs while ensuring safety compliance with DOT requirements.
- Perform inspections to identify damaged or faulty Internal/external components to meet company, OEM and DOT specifications.
- Repair or replace minor to standard Internal/external body components including cab to maximize safety of equipment while in use on public roads.
- Recognize and identify, non-body related repair or maintenance items (trailer, tires, etc).
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
