About The Position

Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG) is seeking an experienced and results-driven Body Shop Manager to lead their team of skilled technicians in a well-established repair facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in service management and a proven track record of effective leadership in the transportation industry. This role involves supervising the day-to-day operations of the body shop, managing workflow, leading technicians, interacting with customers, providing estimates, and ensuring the quality of work performed.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Service Manager in the transportation industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).
Self-motivated and self-starter.
Ability to approach any situation with a positive attitude.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to pass post-offer drug screening, physical examination (including a lift test), and background check.

Responsibilities

Supervises the day-to-day operations of the body shop.
Schedules the flow of work in the shop.
Manages body shop technicians.
Visits customers.
Provides estimates for customers.
Inspects work done to ensure quality.
Selects body shop technicians for hire.
Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations.
Enforces company’s policies and procedures.
Provides training, scheduling, assigning, coaching, counseling to body shop technicians.
Communicates job expectations and monitors progress.
Appraises and reviews job contributions.
Provides prompt and courteous service: both on the phone and in person.
Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
Itemizes invoices after work is finished.
Opens and closes repair orders.
Approves expenditures for department.
Approves outsourcing of services.
Places parts order with the Parts Department.
Purchases supplies and paint materials.
