About The Position

This is an entry-level position where training will be provided. The Body Sander completes the final stages of the Body Manufacturing process, ensuring each guitar body is either ready to be painted or shipped out to the customer, as is. They will prepare the bodies rough wooden surface by smoothing and shaping it to achieve a flawless texture, with careful attention to detail to meet part specifications and uphold the craftsmanship of the instrument.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Able to stand and occasionally walk for an 8-hour period
• Able to bend, reach and twist upper and lower body
• Able to move items up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stay focused and alert while performing repetitive tasks
• Able to work at a quick pace while maintaining superior quality standards
• Maintain hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity for an 8-hour period
• Maintain good vision to include close vision and depth perception for an 8-hour period
• A thorough knowledge of a variety of electric sanders, other electric tools and hand tools

Nice To Haves

• One year of relevant woodworking, fast paced production, and manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Using a variety of sanding techniques to include hand, flat, pull strip, etc.
• Cutting routing channels
• Drilling wire channels
• Operating a router
• Shaping the body and blending its contours
• Smoothing imperfections on the body using a variety of techniques
