About The Position

In this role, you will lead the testing activities for the fail-op vehicle platform to ensure safe and reliable operation of our highly automated truck chassis. You will be responsible for developing and executing system-level and vehicle-level tests, leading test campaigns, and supporting system-wide implementation while working closely with talented engineers in the global project team. The candidate selected for this role will step into a high-profile, dynamic position that will develop and demand leadership, deep technical understanding, and influence across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, computer science, electrical or mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college/university and 2+ years of related experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field with at least one year of relevant experience
  • Experience developing, reviewing and executing test cases is required
  • Commercial Driver’s License or ability to acquire one within 1 year of accepting position
  • Proven work experience in automotive or aerospace product development related to product validation and/or functional safety (e.g. ISO 26262)
  • Experience with validation processes and fault analysis techniques, such as FMEA/FTA
  • Excellent teamwork skills combined with a strong desire to continuously improve the product
  • Strong presentation and communication skills required
  • Ability to work and collaborate with remote locations over different time zones
  • Ability to travel domestically

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with change management and deploying new software tools in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience with systems engineering and DOORS ELM/ETM
  • Prior experience in applying validation standards and metrics (ASIL, MISRA, etc.) and taking complex systems through the validation process
  • Commercial vehicle R&D experience
  • ADAS R&D experience
  • Experience working with vehicle measurement systems and logging devices
  • Understanding of CAN based tools such as Vector CANalyzer and CANape
  • Experience working with system level HiL or bench testing environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy utilizing novel tools and processes to fulfill testing needs for the latest, most complex products in the industry
  • Guide engineers across the department through fast paced, high-exposure iterative development cycles
  • Plan and execute test campaigns involving multiple stakeholders, and participants from both internal and external departments
  • Develop conclusions from testing, present results and investigate issues
  • Define timelines, track milestones and contribute to the implementation of the validation concept
  • Interact and align with the overall functional safety concept
  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and regulations in the field of L4 system validation
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and tools
