We are looking to fill a position for a Body Control Technician within the Terex Body Team. This role serves as the technical and quality owner of the body process, providing engineering‑focused support across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and body vendors to ensure bodies meet design intent, installation requirements, and production standards. This role requires regular interaction with production operations, engineering, quality, and purchasing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical and technical understanding
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, quality, or technical support environment

  • Experience with utility bodies, subframes, fabrication, or upfit processes
  • Prior experience working with suppliers or vendors in a quality or manufacturing support role
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Comfortable working hands‑on in a production environment
  • Experience using production and quality tracking systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally and frequently lift smaller items (1–2 pounds)

Responsibilities

  • Own the end‑to‑end body process from body receipt through final truck shipment, ensuring conformance to engineering requirements, quality standards, and production schedules.
  • Perform incoming AQL inspections on received bodies to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Identify, document, and disposition body nonconformances; coordinate containment, rework, repair, or return activities as required.
  • Serve as the on‑floor technical point of contact for body-quality related issues, responding to NCR and RRT submissions and supporting production in real time.
  • Investigate root cause of body quality and fitment issues and coordinate corrective actions with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and suppliers.
  • Work directly with body vendors to address quality concerns, clarify design intent, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
  • Estimate rework scope and labor and coordinate body rework activities to ensure safe and effective execution.
  • Manage warranty claims related to body issues and coordinate replacement or repair of missing, damaged, or nonconforming body components.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control of bodies, subframes, and body‑related materials in the yard and manufacturing areas.
  • Support material staging, storage, and traceability for body‑related parts and warranty materials.
  • Participate in clear‑to‑release and production readiness reviews to surface risks, constraints, and open body issues prior to build.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and light engineering or technical tasks related to body processes and integration.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
