Marine Industry Mechanical Repairs. Keep Manufacturer Boat and Engine Certifications up to date. Treat all customers and coworkers with the courtesy and the respect they deserve. Performing proper diagnostic procedures. Diagnose and properly repair boats brought in for service in a timely, professional manner. Proactively looking for value-added service that can increase the hours per repair order and keep the unit in top condition. Inspect overall condition of each vessel and trailer, reporting any safety concerns or recommended additional service items to the Service Writer. Ensure the service work performed completes the work order and work is approved prior to beginning. Advise service writer of diagnosis, needed repairs, cost estimate, and other repairs needed. Complete all work tasks assigned as safely and efficiently as possible. Documenting and communicating any additional work needed. Complete all required paperwork or computer/database entries for job assigned, making all necessary remarks legibly on the work order, warranty parts, return parts, etc. Providing clear documentation of service in the form of the 3 C’s (concern, cause, and correction) and time tracking. Follow all service department policies and procedures for work orders, inspections, invoicing, etc. Meet or exceed flat rate time allowance communicating any delays with the advisor. Strictly adhere to all company policies regarding safety, use of tools, equipment and vehicles. Maintain dealership tools and equipment to ensure good working order and keep a clean, safe work space. Stay current on manufacturer service bulletins. Returning warranty parts promptly and properly tagging. Properly tag all boats & equipment. Utilize vendor support, tech manuals, service bulletins, and training materials. Submitting a complete parts request to the parts department with all unit information. Quality checking each repair. Removing all tools, rags, etc. Cleaning as you work and alert detail to any issues they need to address. Assisting the Service Advisor in explaining work to customers or getting an explanation of customer’s concern when communication is challenged. Returning all paperwork, keys, and unit to the proper place when finished. Informing management of any broken, damaged, worn or dangerous conditions, parts, or equipment. Striving for 100% customer satisfaction through fixing things right the first time. Submit suggestions for work improvements to Service Manager. Attend training and seminars as needed to stay current on service procedures. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Maintain at least one (more are welcomed) mechanical Certification for our vendors. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
