About The Position

The Boat House of Port Charlotte is looking for a Boat Washer/Detailer to join their team. This position is integral to the success of the team and the company image, responsible for making boats shimmer and shine. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a demanding schedule to keep boats and the facility looking sharp, conduct customer interactions with courtesy and respect, and prepare boats for delivery by thoroughly cleaning them inside and out. Attention to detail is essential for success in this role, as boats have many areas that are not visible on first glance but are part of the expectation for cleanliness. The role also involves assisting the Service Department, organizing boats on the lot, following safety rules, and maintaining the overall appearance of the yard and equipment.

Requirements

Can see when something isn't clean and needs to shine.
Can handle working outside all day each day.
Attention to detail is essential.
Must undergo a pre-employment drug screening.
Intention to support a drug and alcohol-free workplace.

Responsibilities

Prepare boats for delivery by thoroughly cleaning the boat both inside and out to include all surfaces.
Keep stock boats clean and ready for customer inspection.
Assist Service Department in cleaning service boats as requested.
Organize the boats on the lot using the forklift and needed vehicles to meet the requests of management.
Follow safety rules and regulations.
Wear appropriate protective gear.
Advise supervisor when a boat requires additional work.
Perform role with the mindset to use the necessary supplies for success without overuse or waste.
Keep work area neat, clean and organized at all times.
Assist in general yard cleanup as directed.
Keep equipment/tools in good working order.
Notify supervisor when equipment/tools need repair or replacement.
Maintain overall appearance of yard (Pick up garbage, put hoses away, etc.).
Clean Buildings and Service Trucks as directed.
Help in the setup/breakdown of boat shows as directed, to include but not limited to hauling boats, placement at the show, cleaning both the boats and general area during the show for optimal exposure, and returning boats to assigned locations.
Attend all assigned meetings.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
