About The Position

The Board Operator is responsible for operating broadcast console and studio equipment during live and pre-recorded shows, helping ensure broadcasts run smoothly and sound clear. The role supports the delivery of programming, advertisements, and other audio content to listeners with accuracy and professionalism.

The position monitors on-air programming for quality, timing, and compliance with FCC regulations; coordinates with talent, producers, and traffic teams; troubleshoots technical issues; records, edits, and loads audio content using automation systems; and maintains compliance documentation. The Board Operator may also support remote broadcasts and live events. The position is part-time and based at 8000 Belfort Parkway, Jacksonville, Florida.

Requirements

• Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with broadcast equipment and automation systems, such as NexGen and Adobe Audition.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate broadcast consoles and studio equipment during live and pre-recorded shows.
• Monitor on-air programming for quality, timing, and compliance with FCC regulations.
• Coordinate with talent, producers, and traffic teams to ensure smooth transitions and accurate commercial placement.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in real time and escalate them as needed.
• Record, edit, and load audio content for playback using automation systems.
• Maintain logs and documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
• Support remote broadcasts and live events as needed.
