Board Member

Ocean Outcomes•Remote, OR, OR

About The Position

Ocean Outcomes (O2), a global nonprofit and mission-driven technical partner, is recruiting Board of Directors members to help steward the organization into its second decade. Board members partner with the Executive Director and Board Chair to support O2 through organizational governance and fiscal oversight, strategy review, thought leadership, and strategic fundraising. Responsibilities are tailored to each member’s interests, experience, role, and capacity. Board members serve two-year terms and may be reappointed for two additional terms. New members should be interested in serving at least two terms, a four-year commitment. The Board meets quarterly, with a goal of holding one annual in-person meeting, typically a two-day meeting in the Portland, Oregon area. Members are also required to participate actively in either the Governance or Finance committee; committees meet approximately every three months. Board service is unpaid, except for administrative support and travel and accommodation costs related to board duties. O2 notes that members may gain knowledge, experience, insights, and contacts through the organization’s work and relationships. Interested applicants will be considered starting in fall 2026 and throughout the year until the positions are filled.
