About The Position

RieLes Group is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist to provide on-site support for The Baltimore VA Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. The Baltimore VA Medical Center (VAMC) is part of the VA Maryland Health Care System and serves Veterans across the Baltimore region. Affiliated with the University of Maryland Medical Center and connected to it via a sky bridge, the facility offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including advanced specialties such as oncology, rehabilitation, and mental health care. Notably, it was the first medical center in the world to establish a filmless radiology department, reflecting its commitment to innovation and technology. The Baltimore VAMC also features a Radiation Oncology Clinical Care Center equipped with state-of-the-art systems, making it a key site for highly skilled professionals in medical physics, dosimetry, and radiation therapy. Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Medical Physics or related discipline
  • Board Certification in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the ABR (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of continuous work experience within the last 3 years
  • Experience with QA procedures (Sun Nuclear/SunCheck preferred)
  • Experience with ACR or ASTRO APeX accreditation
  • Experience with Varian Linear Accelerators (Edge or equivalent)
  • Experience with IGRT with Cone Beam CT (TG-142 standards)
  • Experience with Eclipse/ARIA systems (2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, IMRT/VMAT per TG-53)
  • Experience with IMRT QA (MapCheck I/II or equivalent)
  • Experience with Siemens SOMATOM goOpen Pro CT Simulator (TG-66 standards)
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Successful completion of VA credentialing
  • Compliance with CEU and licensure maintenance
  • Not listed on the HHS OIG Exclusion List

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the VA CPRS system
  • Prior VA or federal healthcare experience

Responsibilities

  • Support the clinical physics operations of the Radiation Oncology Service
  • Perform QA procedures, calibrations, and dose verification following AAPM standards
  • Participate in treatment planning and validation for 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT modalities
  • Oversee IGRT, cone beam CT imaging, and treatment equipment QA
  • Conduct weekly and end-of-treatment chart reviews
  • Maintain full clinical documentation in CPRS and ensure compliance with VA standards
