About The Position

NiteLines USA, established in 1994, provides contract support services to government institutions and medical treatment facilities. We are seeking dedicated Board Certified Radiologists (1099) to join our team. This role involves providing on-site Radiology Physician Services to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Columbia, SC. The position requires direct patient care, consultation with referring physicians, and participation in specialized meetings, all while adhering to VA Rules and Regulations and patient safety standards.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice medicine in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • All licenses held must be full and unrestricted.
  • Physicians with current, full, and unrestricted licenses in one or more states are required. Those with or who have had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action, or denied upon application will not be considered.
  • All Physician licenses must be current and in good standing.
  • Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology.
  • All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
  • Available and present in clinic during normal facility clinic hours (8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday).
  • Available on-call during off-hours (4:30 pm to 8:00 am weekdays) and weekends (4:30 pm Friday to 8:00 am Monday).
  • Available at all times for phone consultations with VA residents and Physicians when the facility clinic is closed.
  • On-call providers must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 60 minutes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, estimated at 95% of the time.
  • Perform general and interventional Radiology procedures, including Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (Nuc Med), and Interventional Radiography (IR).
  • Consult with and instruct referring physicians on appropriate indications for radiologic procedures to ensure timely and clinically appropriate work-ups.
  • Determine appropriate courses of treatment and communicate with referring clinicians.
  • Review consults/orders and next-day patient cases for a minimum of two hours daily.
  • Provide post-procedure evaluation and follow-up, including clinical consultation regarding complications of interventional radiologic procedures.
  • Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.
  • Prepare for, attend, and manage follow-up activities resulting from specialized meetings.
  • Comply with and report on patient safety and infection control standards of care.
  • Make every effort to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injury.
  • Document and disclose all events related to patient injury, medication errors, and other breaches of patient safety to the medical record and the patient or surrogate as soon as practicable (within 24 hours).
