Board-Certified Music Therapist-Levine Cancer-PRN
About The Position
The Board-Certified Music Therapist provides music therapy services at Levine Cancer Institute and affiliated cancer care locations, supporting both outpatient and inpatient care. The position offers flexible weekday coverage, with approximately 8–10 hours per week scheduled in coordination with program leadership according to patient care needs, census, referral volume, and program needs. The therapist uses music therapy interventions to support positive behavioral changes in a therapeutic environment and helps individuals receiving treatment better understand themselves and their environment, supporting adjustment and overall well-being. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy.
- Completion of a 6- or 9-month internship in a specialized area following completion of the degree.
- Registered Music Therapist with the National Association for Music Therapy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
- Use music therapy interventions to support positive behavioral changes within a therapeutic environment.
- Help individuals receiving treatment develop a greater understanding of themselves and their environment to support appropriate adjustment and overall well-being.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
