About The Position

Madison District Public Schools seeks a highly skilled, collaborative, and dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support students, educators, and families. The BCBA will provide behavioral consultation and services across the district, develop and implement Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and utilize evidence-based strategies to support students with moderate to significant behavioral needs.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field
  • Hold an active status as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), or ability to obtain.
  • Maintain all valid licenses, certifications, approvals, and registrations required to practice as a BCBA in the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive behavior support strategies, interventions, and programs tailored to individual student needs, small groups, or a district-wide continuum.
  • Provide expert guidance to special education teams, parents, students, and community agencies on behavioral concerns and specialized educational needs.
  • Deliver specialized services for students with moderate to severe behavioral challenges, develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
  • Design and facilitate professional development on evidence-based practices for behavior data collection, functional analysis, and other relevant topics.
  • Actively contribute to special education teams (e.g., IEP, REED, MET) to promote a collaborative, data-driven approach supporting students in their least restrictive environment.
  • Support implementation of MTSS and PBIS practices within special education, promoting positive behavioral and academic outcomes.
  • Guide special education problem-solving through data-based decision-making and use student outcome data to inform and refine behavior intervention plans.
  • Liaise with community agencies specializing in behavioral services for students with disabilities and provide support and resources to parents on positive behavior strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, ensure compliance with special education regulations, and contribute to progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the goals of the district and support student success.
