About The Position

The Price Center is a dynamic and supportive community that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through our Residential Services programs, employer services programs, and more. Reporting to the CCO, the BCBA is responsible for the management and oversight of behavioral data collection, analysis, behavioral assessment, PBSP development, Safety Plan development, staff training, and implementation, across day and residential programs. The BCBA will complete leveling tools and assist with prior authorizations in MassHealth funded programs. The BCBA will sit as a qualified clinician on the agency’s PBS Teams. The BCBA should have a commitment to The Price Center’s Mission Statement and to the integration of people with developmental disabilities in their communities is essential.

Requirements

  • BCBA certification
  • Massachusetts State Licensure (LABA)
  • Master’s degree in special education, psychology, social work, or other related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism and family members.
  • Education and experience in the Positive Behavior Support Framework in adult service agencies.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and write documents such as safety rules; policies and procedures manuals; clinical reports and client records; assessments; and conduct data analysis.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and utilize time effectively.
  • Ability to train staff to proficiency and complete fidelity checks and provide on-the-spot feedback.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driver history, acceptable criminal record (CORI), SORI and fingerprinting required.
  • Acceptable results from other background checks as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral support and programming to staff and individuals of the agency based on need.
  • Oversee PBS Quality Assurance systems under the supervision and guidance of the Chief Clinical Officer.
  • Participate in preparation for CARF certification and DDS Licensing survey and certification visits.
  • Report on PBS outcomes at least annually to key stakeholders.
  • Identify and provide or coordinate staff trainings as needed.
  • Attend Positive Behavioral Supports Leadership Team and sub-team meetings and ensure the implementation of PBS systems within all adult IDD programs, including effective and ongoing consultation and training to staff.
  • Provide additional clinical training and consultation for IDD staff including but not limited to basic Positive Behavioral Supports, ABA theory and techniques; working with people who have autism.
  • Provide ongoing support to programs and staff by conducting observation, assessments, plan development and training, and treatment integrity checks.
  • Collect and analyze behavior and skill acquisition data.
  • Complete all behavioral requirements for individuals receiving services within the agency.
  • Providing consultation on individual client needs. Responsibilities include assessing skill levels and behavioral support needs, designing and developing teaching programs to address skill acquisition targets, and developing Positive behavioral support plans as needed.
  • Keep abreast of current Department of Developmental Services regulations, guidelines and services; attend applicable DDS trainings, committees, or meetings.

  • Is knowledgeable of and promotes individuals’ human and civil rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the self-advocacy, privacy, dignity and well-being of all consumers in a safe and secure environment.
  • Is knowledgeable about procedures for keeping people free from abuse or neglect and procedures for reporting abuse.
  • Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with community contacts, co-workers and supervisors, funding sources, etc.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings and development.
  • Complete and maintain current trainings/certifications/licenses required for position/location.
  • Actively participate on teams to solve problems, share ideas and plan for change.
  • Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
  • All other job-related duties as assigned.
