Gateway Pediatric Therapy is expanding its programs to include community-based behavioral treatment services through its Behavior Management Services (BMS) Program. This program offers community-based work with clients diagnosed with serious mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. Clients may be children or adults who engage in challenging behavior that pose health and safety risks or have the potential to interfere with quality of life. The program focuses on delivering evidence-based caregiver and staff training to individuals overseeing care, who then implement behavior support plan recommendations with clinician monitoring and guidance. BCBAs in this role act as consultants, conducting training and monitoring visits based on client progress and medical necessity. They also develop, train, and monitor restrictive or intrusive interventions after obtaining necessary approvals. Collaboration with other members of the client’s treatment team is essential. Gateway Pediatric Therapy emphasizes a person-centered approach and provides administrative and clinical support to its BCBAs, including intake scheduling, report review, billing, administrative support, and supervision from experienced management.
