About The Position

This position involves implementing instructional activities with students as directed by the teacher and/or building principal. The paraprofessional will assist in the preparation of lesson plans, instructional materials, and data collection. They will assume responsibility for being prepared to perform instructional duties as prescribed by the teacher. The role also includes implementing behavior management techniques, treating all students with dignity and respect, and assisting with the physical management of students, which may involve lifting. Additionally, the paraprofessional will help maintain the classroom, assist with duties such as lunchroom, recess, and bus supervision, and participate in training, staffing, and faculty meetings. Adherence to confidentiality policies for students under IDEA and following Benton School Board Policies are also key aspects of this role. Other duties as assigned by administration, building principal, and/or the supervising teacher will be performed.

Requirements

Associates Degree or 60 college hours or passed the Praxis ParaPro test

Responsibilities

Assist with the maintenance of the classroom.
Assist with duties including but not limited to lunchroom, recess, bus, etc.
Participate in training, staffing, and faculty meetings as directed by the building principal and Administration.
Adhere to confidentiality policies and practices for students under IDEA as outlined by the teacher.
Follow any Benton School Board Policy and/or practice.
Perform other duties as assigned by administration, building principal, and/or the supervising teacher.
