BMS / EPMS / Security Project Manager – Data Center Construction
About The Position
We are working confidentially with a General Contractor delivering a major data center project in the Mobile, Alabama area and are looking to appoint an experienced BMS / EPMS / Security Project Manager to join the project team. This is a full-time, site-based position. Recent data center construction experience is essential. The Project Manager will take ownership of the BMS, EPMS and security-related scopes across the project, coordinating specialist subcontractors, controls vendors, commissioning teams and the wider project team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical BMS, EPMS and security packages on a major ground-up data center development.
Requirements
- Recent data center or mission critical construction experience is essential
- Strong General Contractor, Construction Manager or mission critical project background
- Experience managing BMS, EPMS, controls, security or integrated systems packages
- Strong understanding of Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems
- Experience with access control, CCTV and physical security systems
- Experience coordinating system integrators and specialty subcontractors
- Strong knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation
- Experience supporting commissioning, functional testing and systems turnover
- Strong understanding of MEP coordination and controls integration
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work full-time on site in the Mobile, Alabama area
- Candidates must have recent data center construction experience and a strong background in controls, EPMS, BMS or security systems.
Responsibilities
- Managing Building Management System (BMS) packages
- Managing Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) packages
- Managing physical security and access control systems
- Coordinating CCTV, access control, security networks and associated infrastructure
- Managing controls, automation and systems integration packages
- Coordinating subcontractors, vendors and specialist system integrators
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, RFIs and submittals
- Managing change orders, procurement and project documentation
- Coordinating BMS and EPMS interfaces with mechanical and electrical systems
- Supporting controls integration, testing, startup and commissioning
- Tracking schedules, budgets and package-level progress
- Managing system deficiencies, punch lists and closeout
- Supporting functional testing and commissioning activities
- Working closely with electrical, mechanical, commissioning and security teams
- Ensuring all systems meet project, quality and compliance requirements
