Requirements

Troubleshooting basic electronic circuits
Evaluating and resolving operational problems involving medical equipment
Completing and recording maintenance documentation
Maintaining an accurate and complete inventory of medical devices and systems
Scheduling and documenting work performed
Communicating clearly with users in patient care areas
Reviewing and ordering parts and materials

Responsibilities

Performs repair, preventive maintenance and calibration of medical equipment.
Troubleshoots basic electronic circuits under close supervision.
Evaluates and resolves operational problems involving medical equipment at the request of clinical staff and department management.
Completes and records all required maintenance documentation.
Serves in on-call rotation.
Adjusts, calibrates, lubricates, performs operational verification, tests electrical safety, and other tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety of medical equipment.
Maintains an accurate and complete inventory of medical devices and systems in assigned areas.
Schedules and documents work performed as directed by the department.
Communicates clearly with users in patient care areas during rounds or while investigating reported malfunctions.
Reviews and/or orders parts and materials so as to insure right items are ordered at right time from the most effective source and that prudent stock levels are maintained.
