Requirements
- At least 1 year operating extrusion machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including every other weekend.
- Consistent, on-time attendance—arrive before shift start ready to run.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving with extrusion equipment.
- Strong verbal/written communication and careful, timely recordkeeping.
- Analytical mindset and strong math skills.
- Experience performing quality checks; understanding of measurement tools and quality standards.
- Comfort with PPE requirements: hairnets, beard-nets, steel-toed shoes/boots, ear protection, and bump caps when required.
- Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities
- Operate extrusion equipment safely and consistently to meet or exceed targets for waste, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
- Pinpoint and correct machine-related issues using sound mechanical adjustments.
- Share ideas that improve production performance and solve recurring issues.
- Support and mentor less experienced team members to build a stronger shift.
- Inspect output, recognize defects quickly, and adjust to remove root causes.
- Accurately complete end-of-shift reports—crewing time, machine time, and quantities.
- Follow safety rules, housekeeping expectations, and standard work at all times.
