About The Position

This position serves internal and external customers by quickly, safely, and accurately building and loading pallets of product onto trucks for delivery. The role involves operating a forklift, managing truck movements for efficient loading, communicating with team members, training employees, assigning work, resolving issues, completing paperwork, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness. It also includes handling alcoholic products, managing inventory discrepancies, receiving inbound deliveries, and assisting with technology used in warehouse operations.

Requirements

High School or GED required
1 - 3 years of material handling experience in a warehouse environment required
Previous food/beverage warehouse experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of: warehouse/food distribution environment; beverage industry.
Skill in: internal customer service.
Ability to: quickly, efficiently and independently; multi-task; count accurately; read load sheets; work independently, quickly and efficiently; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; read and write; perform basic math functions (e.g. addition, subtraction); obtain a forklift license; operate a forklift, and other mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

Build pallets of product accurately and safely by identifying proper location, package and quantity of product requested on build sheets.
Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures (e.g., OSHA and safety requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local laws); wear all required personal equipment.
Utilize forklift to load pallets into truck bay; ensure that each pallet is loaded safely into the correct truck bay as requested on build sheets.
Move and park trucks to maintain efficient and timely loading process.
Communicate with co-workers, supervisor, and management team verbally regarding the status of work activities (e.g., loading process) and other information, and with supervisor regarding questions or issues with daily assignment.
Train employees to perform Forklift Operator job duties in accordance with established standards.
Assign work to other Forklift Operators under the direction of the Warehouse Management Team.
Work with Forklift Operators, Load Auditors, and Warehouse Management Team to resolve problems, errors, and mis-picks.
Complete equipment safety checklists, build sheet forms, and other required paperwork according to established standards.
Work assigned schedule, exhibit regular and predictable attendance, and work overtime as needed to meet workload demands.
Notify re-stocker of stock outages so that product can be replenished in picking locations.
Maintain cleanliness and assist in the organization of the warehouse (e.g., cut away shrink wrap from pallets, gather damaged materials, clean up spills, stock and fill storage racks).
Handle, stock, and organize alcoholic products.
Work with inventory team to resolve any physical variance within VIP System.
Help to count inventory when necessary.
Verify Production ranker report accuracy compared to VIP inventory report.
Validate load verifications and make correction requests when necessary.
Receive all inbound deliveries per G&J established procedures.
Troubleshoot the EasyOps receiving program.
Ensure that proper paperwork is completed including trailer verification sheets, dates on products, and any additional information used for traceability.
Help manage technology/equipment used by loaders/pickers during the loading/stocking operations.
Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including forklifts, in compliance with safety standards and company procedure.
