The Blow Mold Operator II is an independent operator role with strong troubleshooting skills, multiple-machine operation abilities, and informal support of junior operators. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education or technical training preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, maintenance, quality, or related environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety rules, production schedules, labels, specifications, or technical documents.
  • Basic math, measurement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work assigned shift, overtime, weekends, or holidays as business needs require.
  • Standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive hand, wrist, arm, or shoulder movements.
  • Use of hands and fingers to handle tools, parts, controls, materials, or equipment.
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety shoes, face shields, respirators, or protective clothing.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or around moving machinery, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and verifying carry-over quantities, scheduled production, and raw material availability.
  • Verifying leak detectors and providing relief coverage for the Senior Operator when needed.
  • Safely operating several blow molding machines and ensuring continuous operation in accordance with scheduled work orders.
  • Ensuring bottle quality, color, weight, sleeving, and QA specifications are met.
  • Performing ongoing QA checks and ensuring QA documentation and leak detector checks.
  • Reporting production delays, risks, or issues.
  • Performing minor mechanical repairs, assisting with more extensive maintenance, completing preventive maintenance, and making machine/process adjustments.
  • Maintaining adequate supplies of dyes and resins to ensure uninterrupted machine operation.
  • Training, guiding, and supporting junior operators.
  • Following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Immediately reporting unsafe conditions, injuries, near misses, spills, or equipment concerns.
  • Using required PPE properly.
  • Participating in safety training and meetings.
  • Following lockout/tagout, machine guarding, hazard communication, emergency response, and other required safety practices.
  • Stopping work or escalating concerns when an unsafe condition exists.
  • Following quality standards, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Reporting nonconforming materials, products, or processes.
  • Completing required quality documentation accurately.
  • Participating in corrective actions or continuous improvement activities.
  • Understanding how the role impacts customer satisfaction, compliance, and company performance.
