Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in inventory/distribution
  • Attention to detail in all work processes
  • Interpersonal skills to handle a variety of issues and situations
  • Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of staff
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and customers in a helpful, courteous and friendly manner while demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for diverse populations
  • Ability to plan and organize job tasks or resources in an efficient manner
  • Ability to be responsive and available to management in order to address issues and concerns as they arise

Responsibilities

  • Packing blood and blood products
  • Arranging for transportation and distribution of the product
  • Maintaining and controlling inventories of all products
  • Receiving orders and packing blood and blood products
  • Coordinating all products ensuring they reach their proper destination
  • Following up on any orders from the transportation department and hospital services
  • Placing blood products in crates and cleaning up after blood spills
  • Maintaining complete inventory of blood and blood products and supplies by taking physical inventory daily
  • Assisting with maintaining staffing levels by staying on shift until relieved and performing assigned overtime as required
  • Monitoring and following protocols on alarm system and reading and following all protocols, guidelines, practices, procedures and regulations
  • Performing a variety of clerical tasks including sorting the packing slips and organizing the paperwork
