About The Position

The American Red Cross is seeking individuals to join their team as Blood Collections Staff with a focus on Customer Service. This role involves assisting with all aspects of the blood collection process, including transporting and setting up equipment at collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for donors, and adhering to safety procedures for collecting life-saving blood donations. The organization offers paid phlebotomy training, providing an opportunity to grow healthcare skills within a humanitarian organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft office applications.

Nice To Haves

• Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
• Prior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment for volunteer donors.
• Ensure blood collected meets goals, regulatory requirements, and can be safely transfused.
• Drive Red Cross vehicles and work with the team to set up and tear down equipment at donation sites.
• Transport and setup equipment at collection sites in local communities.
