About The Position

The American Red Cross is seeking individuals to join their team as Blood Collection Staff with a focus on customer service. This role involves assisting with all aspects of the blood collection process, including transporting and setting up equipment at local community collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and adhering to safety procedures during blood collection. The organization offers paid phlebotomy training, providing an opportunity to develop healthcare skills and advance a career within the American Red Cross.

Requirements

• Reside in Montgomery County, PA or Bucks County, PA.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
• Minimum height of 60 inches may be required to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

• Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
• Prior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Connect with donors personally, listening to their stories and explaining the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment for volunteer donors.
• Ensure blood collected meets goals, regulatory requirements, and can be safely transfused through detailed attention.
• Drive Red Cross vehicles and work with the team to set up and tear down equipment at donation sites.
