About The Position

UP Health System- Marquette is seeking a Full Time PRN Donor Technician for the Blood Bank. This position is a USW Union Role. UP Health System- Marquette is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. The Donor Technician plays a vital role in making communities healthier by performing phlebotomy, maintaining equipment, managing donor records, and tele-recruiting donors to ensure adequate blood supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent. Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
• Valid driver license
• Basic Life Support- Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months of phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy both on and offsite.
• Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
• Performs clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing related to donors.
• Performs quality control and corrective preventative maintenance on equipment, instruments, and products.
• Maintains supply inventory.
• Tele-recruits donors as needed to maintain adequate blood supplies for daily activities at the hospital.
