Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively and follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Two- or four-year technical degree.
  • Three years of relevant experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Three years of equipment validation and maintenance experience.
  • Experience training or instructing others.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate equipment ordering, installation, validation, qualification, maintenance, repair, and return to service.
  • Schedule and perform quality control (QC) and preventative maintenance (PM) on Lab and Blood Manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the asset management system and help ensure work orders are released, completed, documented, and closed on time.
  • Perform installation, validation, and qualification procedures for newly acquired equipment and equipment returning from repair or maintenance.
  • Maintain and calibrate temperature logging equipment.
  • Track equipment status and maintain accurate equipment files, location logs, spreadsheets, and documentation.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, order replacement parts, maintain parts inventory, and document repairs and returns to operations.
  • Maintain vendor manuals and equipment documentation, including appropriate archiving.
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering equipment records and answering equipment-related questions.
  • Partner with management on process improvements, compliance concerns, budgeting discussions, and timely follow-up.
  • Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to equipment validation.
  • Communicate equipment status changes and other relevant information to appropriate departments.
  • Identify and escalate compliance issues to management.
  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with Vitalant SOPs, applicable regulations, and equipment manufacturer requirements.
