About The Position

We are looking for skilled and motivated Machine Operators for our New Ellenton, FL concrete block manufacturing facility. Under the direction of the plant manager, shift supervisor and/or other designated lead personnel, the Machine Operator maintains the facility in a clean, orderly and hazard-free condition. This position will operate, monitor, and maintain concrete block manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

Use, read and understand rulers and tape measures
Read, write and speak English as required by safety standards and job expectations
Basic math skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, averaging, etc.
Interpersonal and teamwork skills
Must be able to perform duties requiring bending, stooping, squatting and crawling.
Must be able to lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to 95 pounds each from floor level to heights up to 4 feet.
Must be able to climb ladders to heights of 7 feet or more.
At least 1-year experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to perform duties requiring bending, stooping, squatting, and crawling at least 50% of shift.
Requires standing 75% of shift (Based on 8 ~ 12-hour shift).
Must be able to lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to 95 pounds each from floor level to heights up to 4 feet.
Must be able to climb ladders up to 7 feet to access material hoppers and equipment platforms.

Responsibilities

Maintain work area in clean and hazard free condition.
Operate machine control panels with electronic switches.
Visually inspect products and by-products for conformity to prescribed quality standards such as color, shape and corners.
Remove poor quality products and by-products.
Make minor adjustment and repairs on machinery, such as removing jams.
Monitor the operation of manufacturing equipment to detect and report malfunctions.
Perform quality control and fill out documentation.
Empty reject dumpsters, clean loose material from around conveyors and batching equipment.
Perform other functions and duties as assigned or directed, such as assisting with maintenance, cleaning and repair of machinery.
