About The Position

The primary responsibilities of the Annealing Furnace Helper is to unload, insulate, coil, and package copper tube material that is processed through the Annealing Furnace. The Annealing Furnace Helpers are responsible for performing one of the tasks at a time and are required to be able to perform each task. The Annealing Furnace Helpers are also responsible for building large boxes to package the finished and insulated coils of copper tube.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each task associated with unloading, insulating, coiling, and packaging copper tube material.
  • Ability to build large boxes to package finished and insulated coils of copper tube.
  • Ability to assemble large cardboard boxes with packing tape.
  • Ability to operate push button control panel to transfer long copper tube material from machine rollers to insulating area rollers.
  • Ability to push and pull on large flat bundles of copper tubes and coils to move down rollers (Requires up to 50 pounds of force pushing and pulling up to 20 times per shift).
  • Ability to constantly place insulation onto copper tube and use foot pedal to operate insulating conveyor belt (up to 500 times per day).
  • Ability to use scissors to cut insulation (up to 500 times per day).
  • Ability to place caps on ends of coils and lift coils that weigh up to 35 pounds and place into box that is 51" tall (up to 500 times per shift).
  • Ability to constantly use foot pedal to operate coiler machine up to 500 times per shift (Requires pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds of force each time).
  • Ability to lift coil off coiler machine and carry to table for packaging.
  • Ability to use reacher bar to push and pull flat bundles of copper tubes (Requires up to 50 pounds of force).
  • Ability to push and pull on flat bundles of copper tubes with hands.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble large cardboard boxes with packing tape. Boxes are 51” tall and weigh 24 pounds when completed and empty
  • Operate push button control panel to transfer long copper tube material from machine rollers to insulating area rollers
  • Push and pull on large flat bundles of copper tubes and coils to move down rollers. (Requires up to 50 pounds of force pushing and pulling up to 20 times per shift)
  • Constantly place insulation onto copper tube and use foot pedal to operate insulating conveyor belt (up to 500 times per day)
  • Use scissors to cut insulation (up to 500 times per day)
