About The Position

The Compound Blending Operator manages the overall production of raw materials for blending and mixing. The compound plant operator duties and responsibilities include overseeing the production process to ensure it runs smoothly, safely and meets quality standards. They must keep a clean environment while maintaining plant machines such as mixers, scales and control functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Basic Math, reading and computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with chemical production processes or in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and running the proper recipes, including the proper amount of ingredients, heating and cooling time, and heating and cooling temperatures.
• Monitoring the compound computer system to ensure proper weights, heats, and pressure are met and maintained.
• Physically inspecting, repairing, and/or reporting needed repairs of filters, material lines/hoses, etc.
• Monitoring and maintaining the railcar unloading system, including properly securing hoses, venting railcars, capping off unused hoses, keeping the railcar area clean, and communicating with the railroad yard.
• Filing correct and accurate paperwork, such as batch reports, resin/silo reports, tote reports, and railcar reports.
• Communicating with the production supervisor about any silo or material changes that may affect the compound.
• Wearing the respirator properly when loading mic units, ensuring material is loaded through the closed grate at all times.
• Performing assigned housekeeping duties.
