About The Position

The Blender Operator is responsible for manually lifting and dumping 50lb bags of ingredients into the IBCs as well as adjusting machines during operations and downtime cleaning activities in the Dump Room. This role operates production/cleaning equipment, completes daily production logs and reports including HACCP and cGMP forms, and verifies product integrity during the manufacturing process. The operator will also perform equipment or product changeovers, ensure work areas are kept clean, and communicate with supervisors on equipment troubleshooting and corrective actions. Additionally, they will provide on-the-job training, ensure quality control checks are completed, report food safety problems, and identify any risk of intentional harm to the facility, personnel, or products. The role involves time stress related to fast-paced work and multi-task requirements, and other duties as assigned. The operator will liaise with other production personnel, perform safety inspections, troubleshoot defects, understand powder differences for allergen and flavor cleans, and communicate issues regarding safety and quality. They are responsible for accurate documentation, assisting in promoting the safety culture, and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred 3+ months of manufacturing experience
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience in food environment or consumer product preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate production/cleaning equipment.
  • Repeatedly maneuver up to 55lbs of materials.
  • Complete daily production logs and reports including all Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) forms.
  • Verify product integrity during the manufacturing process.
  • Perform equipment or product changeovers as designated by the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure the work areas be kept clean and free of debris and foreign material.
  • Communicate with immediate production supervisor or plant manager on equipment troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Provide on-the-job training for employees.
  • Ensure that all quality control checks are being completed and documented.
  • Report food safety problems to their production supervisor or someone with authority to initiate action.
  • Identify any risk of intentional harm to the facility, personnel, or products.
  • Report unauthorized persons to their production supervisor.
  • Liaise with other production personnel to ensure that production plan is being followed.
  • Perform safety inspections and be aware of all the safety points on the machines.
  • Trouble-shoot defects and own the quality of the products.
  • Understand the differences in powders and be able to successfully perform the procedures associated with allergen and flavor cleans.
  • Communicate with the appropriate leadership if issues arise in regards to safety and/or quality issues.
  • Responsible for filling out all documentation correctly and clearly.
  • Assist in maintaining/promoting our Safety Culture.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Lab coat, safety shoes, safety glasses, bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, and nitrile gloves.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
