About The Position

The essential function of the blender operator is to stage raw materials to the proper weight, add them to each batch in accordance with specifications and operates line equipment. This role involves staging and weighing raw materials based on formulation, recording lot numbers and weights, determining the proper raw materials for each product line, adding the correct amounts of each ingredient to the blender per product specification, and recording material information. The operator will also label products, notify the operations specialist of quality-related problems, operate machinery, maintain a clean work area, comply with TYSON/USDA sanitation and safety rules and regulations, operate a pallet jack, and perform other duties as required or assigned. Additionally, inputting data into Plantview and/or SAP using hand scanners is part of the role.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write proficiently to perform job duties.
  • Understand and give verbal and written instruction.
  • Possess sufficient mathematical skill to perform arithmetic functions such as addition and multiplication using whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
  • Knowledge of weights and measures.
  • Sufficient analytical ability to interpret and use data, check reports, forms, records, and use record keeping devices and make decisions from several alternatives.
  • Sufficient physical ability to push, pull or lift materials weighing up to 60 lbs. frequently without mechanical assistance.
  • Climb stairs.
  • Walk up to 1 mile per shift.
  • Tolerate heights of 25'.
  • Stand throughout shift.
  • Sufficient near, far and depth perception vision to perform the operations.
  • Work in cold environment.
  • Possess a valid certified pallet jack operator license.
  • 6-months work history with the same employer.
  • 6 months of machine operator experience.

  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
