About The Position

Smooths surface imperfections and prepares marine tower products for painting by performing the duties listed below. This role works under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions, and established procedures. The position requires maintaining tools, keeping equipment clean and in proper working order, and adhering to all safety and health regulations regarding personal protective equipment and hazardous materials.

• Safety Glasses must be worn at all times when in certain production areas.
• Enclosed non-skid shoes must be worn at all times when in the production areas.

Nice To Haves

• 1 - 2 years manufacturing experience preferred
• Marine, Automotive, or aerospace experience preferred but not required
• Respirator recommended.

Responsibilities

• Uses a grinder to smooth weld beads and blend to surrounding surfaces.
• Uses sanding equipment to smooth any surface imperfections.
• Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in proper working order.
• Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, where required, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
• Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials.
• Reports any deviations to management.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect paint department operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.
