Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in the field.
- Must be able to lean and operate forklift upon request.
Responsibilities
- Removes rust, scale, paint, corrosion, and other foreign materials from metal and non-metal surfaces.
- Operates abrasive blasting equipment, including automatic blasting bays, nozzle blasting chambers, and blasting booths.
- Prepares items for blasting by masking, covering, and protecting areas as required.
- Sorts and organizes work based on the type, size, and condition of items.
- Sets up blasting equipment and selects the appropriate abrasive material for each job.
- Adjusts blast nozzle angles, distances, and air pressure to achieve proper surface cleaning.
- Positions and manipulates items to ensure thorough and effective blasting.
- Maintains proper levels of blasting materials and monitors equipment during operation.
- Follows all required safety procedures and uses appropriate protective equipment.
- Performs minor maintenance and routine upkeep on blasting equipment.
- Must obtain and maintain a forklift license upon request.
