About The Position

This position involves performing abrasive blasting (sandblasting/shot blasting) to clean and prepare surfaces for coating, and applying industrial coatings, paints, and protective finishes using spray equipment. The role requires mixing coatings to maintain correct ratios, inspecting surfaces for quality and compliance, and operating and maintaining blasting and painting equipment. Additionally, the Blaster will maintain proper coating thickness, follow work instructions and production schedules, and keep work areas clean and organized. The role also includes completing required documentation and inspection records, assisting in the assembly area with prepping and moving parts, grinding chokes in the weld shop, operating a forklift/pallet jack, and operating an overhead crane. Other work-related tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• 2 years in a manufacturing environment
• Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and communicate effectively through speech and hearing
• Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting (sandblasting/shot blasting) to clean and prepare surfaces for coating
• Apply industrial coatings, paints, and protective finishes using spray equipment
• Mix coatings and maintain correct ratios per manufacturer requirements
• Inspect surfaces before and after blasting and coating for quality and compliance
• Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment
• Maintain proper coating thickness (DFT) using inspection tools
• Follow work instructions, job travelers, and production schedules
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Complete required documentation and inspection records
• Help in assembly area prepping and moving parts
• Assist in weld shop grinding chokes as needed
• Operate forklift/pallet jack
• Operate overhead crane
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned
