About The Position

McCallum Rock Drilling (MRD) is hiring Blast Helpers to join its team in Boise, Idaho. This entry-level role supports a blast crew at commercial quarries, timberlands, and construction sites. The position primarily involves loading and unloading explosives from trucks and carrying buckets of crushed stone to stem blast holes. It offers on-the-job training and opportunities for career advancement. The ideal candidate is humble, willing to learn, physically fit, and able to work at a fast pace as part of a team. Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Clean driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Must successfully pass criminal background check.
• Ability to work Saturdays.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1–2 years of prior construction or mining experience is preferred.
• Ideally lives within the Boise, Idaho region.

Responsibilities

• Follow all MRD safety policies and procedures.
• Listen to and take direction from the Lead Blaster on site.
• Load and unload packaged ANFO, blasting caps, and boosters from the truck.
• Carry buckets of gravel for stemming purposes.
• Participate in daily tailgate meetings.
• Work at a steady to fast pace.
