About The Position

The Bistro Host is responsible for meeting, greeting, and seating all guests with a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude. This role serves as a source of information for guests entering the Sunset Steakhouse and assists in all areas of Host Stand Operations to ensure a high-quality guest experience. The position requires a proactive approach to supporting the restaurant team, monitoring dining room activity, and collaborating with team members to communicate special needs or guest requests. Hosts are encouraged to take initiative to resolve guest complaints and create loyalty, while maintaining an organized work area and sincerely thanking guests as they leave.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests as they enter and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
  • Answering phone calls, taking reservations, and answering questions.
  • Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
  • Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
  • Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
  • Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
  • Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
  • Maintaining knowledge of Sunset Steakhouse menu.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Warmly greet guests into the restaurant.
  • Proactively support the restaurant team while monitoring dining room activity.
  • Collaborate with team members to communicate any special needs or guest requests.
  • Utilize the freedom to go beyond and take initiative to resolve guest complaints and create loyalty.
  • Maintain an organized host stand or work area.
  • Sincerely thank guests leaving the restaurant and invite them to return.
