We opened in December 2018, the Courtyard by Marriott Burlington is in Burlington/Oakville region features 135 guestrooms and suites with 1800 sq. ft of flexible meeting space, indoor salt-water pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre, and on-site Bistro Restaurant & Lounge.

Requirements

Smart Serve certified required
Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
General knowledge of food and food preparation techniques
Approachable, pleasant, polite, fast
Able to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision
Must be able to understand both oral and written English
Must be legally permitted to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with Starbucks, Micros, banquets, catering and hotel is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with setting up the banquet rooms with tables, serving stations, or buffet tables for service
Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner
Make recommendations and answer questions regarding the menu
Maintain cleanliness
Run food from the kitchen to the tables
Create a pleasant atmosphere for dining and entertainment
Clean up after events and aid in inventory
Taking accurate orders and partnering with team members to serve food and beverages that meet or exceed guests' expectations
Providing friendly and attentive service that makes guests feel well taken care of and builds their intent to return
Complete restaurant opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools
Cleaning all equipment areas, locking equipment doors, etc.
Take orders from customers, input orders in micros, and obtain payment
Fulfilling orders to Courtyard Bistro standards
Prepare food, coffee and other beverages
Work in all F&B areas, including busing, cleaning and resetting tables
Assist with preparation and serving events/banquets
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
Deal with guest requests in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner
Work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner with colleagues assisting where necessary to develop team spirit and to achieve standards of work and guest care as required by Hotel policy
Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform and personal hygiene as required by Hotel policy
