About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Bird Mitigation Specialist (Field Technician) to join their Resilience Environment Team in Reno, NV. This role involves collecting and analyzing environmental data, conducting site assessments, performing operation and maintenance tasks, and implementing resilience and sustainability measures. The specialist will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance environmental resilience.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience working in the field doing bird mitigation related work.
  • Strong data management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, regulators, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively.
  • Comfort working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing field schedules.
  • Eagerness to learn.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant safety or technical certifications—such as HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR, HAZMAT, or GIS/GPS—are considered an asset.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and monitoring environmental data using field equipment and environmental monitoring instruments, including soil, groundwater, air, and soil vapor sampling.
  • Supporting the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of groundwater treatment systems, pumps, and other field equipment.
  • Conducting site inspections, hazard evaluations, and environmental compliance activities.
  • Preparing field reports, technical documentation, and project records utilizing photos, videos, field logs, mobile applications, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Working on job sites 100% of the time in Yerington, NV to support bird mitigation activities, safety audits, and project execution.
  • Collaborating with clients, regulators, and internal project teams.
  • Accurately documenting field observations and testing results using Microsoft Word, Excel, mobile applications, and other digital tools.
  • Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting environmental field equipment and remediation systems.
