About The Position

At Lonza Portsmouth, we manufacture hope by working with human-derived primary cells to create customized, life-saving treatments. This role involves mastering a highly technical craft where precision is the absolute standard. The position is for the Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with a Rotational 2-2-3 Pattern. The initial 2-week orientation and training period will be held on the day shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work comfortably in full sterile gowning gear.
  • Reliability and resilience; ability to maintain a high level of focus during a 12-hour night shift.
  • Technical curiosity and enjoyment of "hands-on" work.
  • A "Zero-Mistake" Mindset; taking pride in doing things the right way, every time.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior biotech experience is not required, but candidates from laboratory, kitchen, mechanical shop, or other detail-oriented environments are welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Grade B cleanroom, requiring a high level of physical and mental discipline.
  • Become an expert in "sterile gowning," wearing specialized head-to-toe protective gear.
  • Spend several hours at a time in a controlled environment, requiring patience, focus, and a "zen-like" approach.
  • Work directly with human biological materials (patient starting products) with utmost care.
  • Perform meticulous benchwork inside laminar flow hoods.
  • Ensure no contaminant enters the patient’s medicine.
  • Follow complex "recipes" (SOPs) perfectly.
  • Document every step of the process in real-time.
