About The Position

Develops and applies statistical theory and methods to support research in the life sciences. Contributes to study design, data analysis, and interpretation of results, and collaborates with investigators to ensure scientific rigor and meaningful outcomes in clinical, laboratory, or population-based studies.

Requirements

  • Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct appropriate statistical analysis, under the supervision of senior biostatisticians, for applications in multicenter clinical trials/studies, medical claims or electronic health record data, as well as single center/laboratory projects in ophthalmic research
  • Design, test, implement & document statistical computer programming in high-level statistical software packages (SAS, R)
  • Develop short-term project-specific biostatistics design and analysis plans under the supervision of senior biostatisticians
  • Develop, document, and maintain Redcap database and the analytic data files
  • Write summary reports and create graphs for manuscripts and proposals
  • Write and edit statistical methods sections of manuscripts
  • Develop working knowledge of methodologic issues in ophthalmic research
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
