About The Position

The Department of Public Health Sciences is seeking a Biostatistician/Senior Biostatistician, with the level determined by qualifications. The incumbent will collaborate with research faculty in the Division of Biostatistics and other investigators in the School of Medicine on clinical and biomedical research projects. Responsibilities include designing and performing reproducible statistical analyses, writing technical reports, interpreting study results, and supporting research publications and grant proposals. Senior Biostatisticians will also take lead roles in research projects, potentially supervising junior staff, and writing statistical design, methods, and analysis for research proposals. They will collaborate with biomedical researchers to develop objectives and design sampling, randomization, and data collection procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a related quantitative field by appointment start date
  • Three years of related experience is preferred for Biostatistician, including professional biostatistical collaborative experiences
  • Five years of related experience for Senior Biostatistician, including professional biostatistical collaborative experiences

Nice To Haves

  • Programming experience in R, SAS/Stata, and REDCap
  • Experience with Snowflake, OMOP, Claims data, Python, LaTeX and/or Markdown

Responsibilities

  • Write statistical computer programs
  • Review computer output for consistency and quality
  • Analyze data and prepare tables for interim and final reports
  • Design tables and statistical procedures for specific research studies
  • Write results sections of reports and publications
  • Develop statistical designs and planned analyses for research grant proposals
  • Develop and implement new innovative procedures in the areas of data collection, quality control, presentation of results, and statistical analyses
  • Lead biostatistical collaborations with clinical research teams
  • Other duties may be assigned
