The Biostatistician I supports the Biostatistics Department’s mission to enhance the quality of research conducted at UAMS by providing statistical expertise and methodological guidance to investigators across a variety of clinical, translational, epidemiologic, and population health research projects. This position serves as a member of the Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSR) within the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute under the direction of the BSR Director. The Biostatistician I collaborates with interdisciplinary research teams to design studies, develop analytic strategies, manage and prepare complex datasets, and conduct statistical analyses using software such as SAS, R, or STATA. Responsibilities include developing statistical analysis plans, contributing to grant applications, protocols, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations, and interpreting findings to support research objectives. This role works closely with faculty investigators, research staff, informatics teams, database managers, and research administrators while managing multiple projects with increasing independence based on Qualifications.
