About The Position
Edison Scientific is seeking a Biostatistician Consultant for a flexible, part-time advisory role. The consultant will serve as a domain authority, setting benchmarks for AI-driven statistical results to ensure technical soundness, regulatory compliance, and adherence to governing agency requirements. This role involves collaborating with domain experts to design tasks, identify knowledge gaps, and guide the development of an AI scientist for scientific discovery. The engagement is expected to be approximately 5-20 hours per week and is designed to accommodate existing commitments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in biostatistical applications within biotech or pharma, preferably at a sponsor.
- Graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a similar discipline.
- Proven expertise in crafting SAPs, determining sample sizes, and designing early-phase (I/II) clinical trials.
- Deep familiarity with ICH guidelines and FDA regulatory standards, including direct experience with CSRs and IND filings.
Responsibilities
- Share knowledge about the "day-in-the-life" of an expert working with data in biotech/pharma for regulatory submissions.
- Describe common tasks or problems where AI could be valuable in expert workflows.
- Identify and describe internal pharma systems commonly used for standard workflows.
- Generate or review reference ground-truth artifacts (reports, data files, modules) for evaluation.
- Identify and add realistic sources of variance or data corruption in study data.
- Identify and correct discrepancies in data quality.
