In this role, you will directly impact our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer by providing our life science technologies—including consumables, reagents, and instrumentation—to UCSF and key biotechs and pharmas in the Peninsula and South San Francisco area for use in their research including cell biology, protein biology, molecular biology and more. You will be supporting our legacy Life Technologies research portfolio that includes brands such as Gibco, Thermo Scientific, Invitrogen, and Applied Biosystems. In the role you will be responsible for accelerating Thermo Fisher Scientific market share by using business strategy, scientific knowledge and teamwork. The Bioscience Account Manager is the cornerstone for our commercial landscape leading key sales activities around prospecting, closing, account mapping and collaborating with our other commercial team members. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any life science, strong preference for Biology
  • 5 plus years of related work experience
  • Mix of sales experience (ideally in the life sciences space) and laboratory bench / research experience
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Proven track record to strategize and achieve results
  • Scientific wet lab experience leveraging tools and technologies across cell culture, imaging, flow cytometry, molecular assays, protein assays, immunology, etc.
  • Relevant scientific background
  • Relevant customer and/or market knowledge
  • Computer proficiency (ex. MS Office)
  • Business acumen with the ability to ask for and grow the business
  • Strong EQ (emotional intelligence)
  • Self-motivated
  • Accountable
  • Effective communicator

Responsibilities

  • Utilize life science portfolio knowledge into differentiated products and services for our customers
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to deliver results
  • Achieve/surpass all assigned sales targets and quotas by proactively leading a consumable and instrument sales funnel
  • Drive scientific engagement with customers through technical discussions that lead to gaining share with our life science portfolio
  • Demonstrate business acumen and a growth mindset to identify opportunities, ask for the business, and grow accounts through strategic planning and execution
