Biomedical Technologist - Main Healthcare Tech Mgmt - Full Time - Days

The Christ Hospital Health Network•Cincinnati, OH

About The Position

The BMET II maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs general and advanced biomedical equipment throughout the TCH Enterprise. The role works independently on complex equipment issues, including system configuration, programming, interfacing with EPIC or other IT systems, and installations. It provides guidance and training to BMETs and clinical users and may lead small groups. The position has primary responsibility for life-support, priority-one, or high-cost systems in the general biomedical area and may provide backup coverage for Specialist I or II positions. The BMET II coordinates activities to improve proficiency across departments, defines training objectives, and provides specialized training to clinical staff. The role requires knowledge of general biomedical systems and some specialized systems, with the ability to diagnose new technologies as needed. It serves as a primary liaison between the enterprise and manufacturers, assists with quality issues and technical or clinical issue resolution and escalation, and ensures preventive maintenance and repairs follow manufacturer guidance and accreditation requirements. The position applies knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows, provides proactive customer service, and uses network, TCP/IP, HIPAA, and HL-7 knowledge—or the ability to learn device interfacing or programming—to support connections to the EMR. It may provide oversight and training to BMET I staff and co-ops as they learn systems. The role also supports equipment setup, inspections, preventive maintenance, quality assurance, documentation, project milestones, and on-call needs for maintained systems or other critical areas.
