This role involves responding to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment. The primary goal is to drive customer satisfaction through service excellence. Under supervision, the technician will evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform PM and safety/environmental inspections. They may assist more experienced technicians on basic and complex repairs. The role requires effective communication and partnership with teammates and colleagues, adherence to GE policies and hospital protocols, and thorough documentation of all repair actions. Maintaining daily communication with customers is essential for ensuring resolution and follow-up, leading to strong customer relations. The technician will also support business goals by implementing GE/customer facility contracts as instructed and work as part of a local team to provide efficient service delivery. On-call responsibilities may be shared when trained. Proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, including calibration, is required. Continuous enhancement of technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction is expected. The technician will utilize various resources like manuals, tech support, and online tools to answer questions during PM. Compliance with Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and all other applicable regulatory requirements is mandatory.
