Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment, healthcare experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of systems utilized for recording ongoing maintenance activities, tracking service histories and producing reports as indicated.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain focus with intermittent distractions.
  • Ability to remain flexible and respond to changing priorities while remaining focused on results
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication
  • Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for calibrating, inspecting and solving routine technical problems of all direct and in-direct patient care related electronic devices and systems.
  • Diagnoses, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and calibrates biomedical devices and systems to manufacturer's specifications with the ability to learn more complicated systems.
  • Utilizes applicable drawings, diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Prepares and maintains records of repairs, inspections and maintenance using both paper and computer systems.
  • Maintains and repairs patient lifts, beds, and other electro-mechanical equipment as assigned.
  • Attends factory training when needed to support new biomedical devices.
  • Communicates effectively with both internal and external customers as needed.
  • Maintains effective vendor relations on an ongoing basis to assure optimal functioning of all assigned biomedical equipment, systems and devices.
  • Participates in after hours call coverage including periodic need to provide on-site support during off hours.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
